Jean-Christophe Maréchal : Un Hydrogéologue Spécialisé

Jean-Christophe Maréchal est un hydrogéologue senior spécialisé dans l’étude des milieux fracturés et karstiques.

Il a travaillé au développement de méthodologies pour l'évaluation de la ressource en eau souterraine des aquifères de socle en ayant recours à des approches pluridisciplinaires visant à la caractérisation de la structure et du fonctionnement à l’échelle du bassin versant, l’estimation de la recharge naturelle, le bilan des nappes aquifères en milieux semi-arides, la modélisation hydrodynamique des aquifères de socle et la mise en œuvre et l’interprétation d’essais de pompage, dans le cadre de projets de recherche.

JC Maréchal is a senior hydrogeologist specialized in the study of fractured and karst environments.

He has worked on the development of methodologies for the assessment of groundwater resources in basement aquifers using multidisciplinary approaches aimed at the characterization of the structure and functioning at the watershed scale, the estimation of natural recharge, the balance of aquifers in semi-arid environments, the hydrodynamic modelling of basement aquifers and the implementation and interpretation of pumping tests, in the framework of research projects.

Il a été co-chairman du Centre Franco-Indien de Recherche sur les Eaux Souterraines entre 2000 et 2003. Il est responsable de l’Observatoire de recherche Hyderabad, associé au SOERE H+ et à l’IR OZCAR.

He was co-chairman of the French-Indian Groundwater Research Center between 2000 and 2003. He is in charge of the Hyderabad Research Observatory, associated with SOERE H+ and IR OZCAR.

Il a également développé des méthodes d’interprétation et de modélisation des essais de pompage dans les conduits karstiques.

He has also developed methods for interpretation and modeling of pumping tests in karst conduits.

JC Maréchal a conçu et animé dès 2005 le stage de formation EAU 10-09 « Interprétation et valorisation des données issues des pompages d'essai » (2 jours plusieurs fois par an).

JC Maréchal has designed and conducted since 2005 the training course EAU 10-09 "Interpretation and valorisation of data from test pumpings" (2 days several times a year).

l’application de la modélisation mathématique (éléments finis, différences finies) des écoulements souterrains à des aquifères complexes (cristallin montagneux dans le Mont-Blanc, socle cristallin à Hyderabad, socle métamorphique à Bangalore): applications au transport de chaleur, à la géologie de l’ingénieur, l’hydrogéologie et l’environnement.
